Holiday Countdown

How many days until the next Eid, Pohela Boishakh or Durga Puja? Here are countdowns to the main holidays in Bangladesh, with the date in the English, Bengali and Hijri calendars.

Every countdown on this page runs on Bangladesh time. The Bengali date is shown next to the English one, so it is easy to see that Victory Day is 1 Poush and Pohela Boishakh is 14 April. For holidays that depend on the moon, such as the two Eids and Shab-e-Barat, the date comes from the government gazette and can move by a day once the moon is sighted. Each holiday has its own page with the countdown, the gazette date and a short history.
