How to read the grid

The week starts on Friday. Friday and Saturday are the weekend in Bangladesh, so those two columns are shaded grey. In each cell the large number is the Bengali date, and the English and Hijri dates sit below it in small type. Public holidays are red and today's cell is blue. Click any cell to see that day's weekday, season, holiday and all three dates together.

Use the year and month selectors above to jump to any month. Each month has its own link, so you can bookmark it or send it to someone. A month grid can be downloaded as a PDF or an image if you want to print it. To see Bengali month starts and holidays in your phone's calendar app, subscribe to the calendar feed. You add it once and it keeps itself up to date every year.

Which English year is which Bengali year

To get the Bengali year, subtract 593 from the English year if the date is 14 April or later, and 594 if it is earlier. So 1423 begins on 14 April 2016 and continues until 13 April 2017. The next day is the first of 1424. For a date on a land deed or an old document, use the date converter. Dates before 1394 were recorded under the older almanac rules and can be off by one to three days.
